One aspect I really like is the way that a Tesla solar roof is made up of a mix of solar tiles and non-solar tiles. They look exactly the same as each other.
This addresses something that I have been wondering about. We already have solar water panels covering some of our roof at our home. Our roof tiles will need to be replaced within the next 2 or 3 years. I can now imagine that underneath our solar water panels, and on our north-facing roof, we would have the non-solar tiles. That would leave the rest of the roof for our electricity-generating solar tiles.
